Amazing Modern Luxury Linear Fireplaces

Amazing Modern Luxury Linear Fireplaces

Long linear fireplaces are gaining popularity in modern interior design. You see them in many posh lobbies and trendy restaurants all over the world. Linear fireplaces bring a luxurious feel and spectacular view to any room.

Gas used to be the only fuel option when it comes to linear fireplaces. Not anymore. With more people living in cities, becoming environmental and health cautious, electric and ethanol fireplaces were introduced and quickly started gaining popularity.

Linear Electric Fireplaces

The main reason for choosing a linear electric fireplace over any other type is that it's virtually maintenance free. You only need to dust them every once in a while.

Linear electric fireplaces are the most popular to install in hotel lobbies, conference rooms, restaurants, and spacious houses. There are many different sizes and styles. Some can be recessed, others simply hung on any wall. With modern technology, the flames look so real you can't even tell it's imitation!

Take a look for yourself. Here are some of the linear electric fireplaces available on our website presented in room settings:

Linear Ethanol Fireplaces

If you're looking for a real, ribbon-like fire, then linear ethanol fireplaces would be the best choice. Ethanol fireplaces don't require a vent, chimney, or flue and can be installed pretty much anywhere. Ethanol is a clean-burning fuel and unlike gas, it only produces small amounts of carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Linear ethanol fireplaces look spectacular. There are many options to choose from as well:

  • Build your own using one of our ethanol burners. You can also combine burners to make your linear fireplace longer. Smart burners are the most recent edition to our collection. They're equipped with electronic safety features, remote control, and built-in wi-fi.
  • Install a single or double-sided ethanol firebox and frame it with any custom surround you like. The new generation of fireboxes also come with remote controls, built-in wi-fi and safety shutoffs.
  • Purchase a ready-to-go ethanol fireplace that can be recessed or mounted on any wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a fireplace linear?

The proportions. A linear fireplace has a long, low opening, roughly twice as wide as it is tall or more, instead of the near-square opening of a traditional firebox. That shape is what produces the ribbon of flame these units are bought for.

What is the difference between a linear electric fireplace and a linear ethanol one?

Whether there is a real fire in it. An ethanol fireplace burns liquid bioethanol, so the flame is genuine and so is the heat. A linear electric fireplace has no fire at all: it makes the flame with LEDs behind a screen, and any warmth comes from a separate heating element you can run or leave off.

Do linear electric fireplaces give off real heat?

Some do, and it is supplemental heat, not a heating system. An electric fireplace warms the air with a fan-forced coil, which works in a closed room and does very little in the open, where warmed air simply drifts away. Check the model, because the heater is often optional and plenty of linear units are decorative only.

How much maintenance does a linear electric fireplace need?

Dusting, essentially. There is no fuel and no ash, so the glass gets wiped and the vents kept clear. An ethanol unit asks more of you: the burner has to be refilled and wiped down around use.

What is the difference between a recessed linear fireplace and a wall mounted one?

A recessed unit sits inside the wall so the face finishes close to flush; a wall mounted one hangs on the surface. Recessed reads as architecture but the wall has to be opened up, so it suits a build or a remodel. Wall mounted goes onto a finished wall, which is what makes it workable in an apartment.

Can a linear fireplace be seen from two rooms?

Yes, if you buy a see-through model. Those are open on two faces so the same fire shows from rooms on either side of the wall. See-through is a distinct product rather than a setting on a single-sided unit, so the configuration has to be chosen up front.
