Our outdoor electric heaters will transform your outdoor living spaces into cozy, year-round havens. Designed to cater to a wide range of preferences and requirements, these heaters combine efficiency, style, and advanced heating technology to ensure your patio, deck, or outdoor dining area remains comfortably warm, regardless of the season. Whether you're a business owner who wants to attract customers with warm outdoor spaces or a homeowner entertaining guests on a chilly evening under the stars, our electric patio heaters provide the perfect blend of warmth and ambiance.

Why Outdoor Electric Heaters? Outdoor Electric heaters offer several advantages over traditional gas heaters. They are environmentally friendly, emitting no pollutants, and are highly efficient, converting almost all the energy they consume into heat. With various installation options—ranging from freestanding and wall-mounted to hanging and ceiling-mounted models—electric heaters are versatile solutions for any outdoor setting. They also have more robust temperature controls, require less maintenance, and are more affordable.

Infrared Electric Patio Heaters: Utilizing infrared technology, these heaters warm objects and people directly, rather than heating the air, for immediate and efficient warmth. Infrared heaters are perfect for windier environments, as their heat is not easily blown away. All outdoor electric patio heaters are infrared. This is great news because infrared heat heats objects, not the air. This means that no heat is getting lost and blown away by the wind.

One thing to keep in mind. Even though all electric heaters produce infrared heat, some of them are better at it than others. This is why some of higher-end brands like Bromic can cover larger areas while having the same Wattage.

Bromic electric patio heaters are some of the most powerful and efficient electric patio heaters on the market. Great for commercial and residential applications, these infrared electric heaters are worth the investment.

Hanging and Wall Mounted Electric Patio Heaters: Save valuable floor space with our hanging or wall-mounted electric patio heaters. These models offer targeted warmth and are ideal for busy patios or balconies, providing heat without occupying ground space. These hanging or wall mounted patio heaters are combined in the category of "overheated electric patio heaters".

Portable Electric Patio Heaters: For flexibility and ease of movement, portable electric patio heaters are an excellent choice. Easily relocate your heat source to wherever it's needed most, from the patio to the garden, without any hassle.

Portable electric patio heaters are also called Freestanding Electric Patio Heaters. Usually, they look like a pole with a heater head on top and have a cord to plug them in. Some newer models can also double as a coffee table or a lamp.

Commercial Electric Patio Heaters: Designed for durability and high output, commercial electric patio heaters are suitable for restaurants, cafes, and other businesses seeking to offer a warm, inviting outdoor space for their customers.

Modern Electric Patio Heaters: Our collection features sleek, contemporary designs that not only serve as efficient heat sources but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space. From minimalist freestanding units to sophisticated ceiling-mount models, our heaters complement any modern decor.

Weatherproof Outdoor Electric Heaters. All outdoor electric heaters are weatherproof but not all of them are waterproof. For example, such popular commercial brands as Infratech and Schwank do not advise their heaters to be installed in an area where rain will be directly on the unit. Their water resistance rating is IPX4 which means they are only resistant to water splashes from any direction.

If you are planning to install your patio heater in an uncovered area, you need one with a higher water resistance. Higher water resistance means getting a heater with at least an IPX5 rating for moderate rain resistance.

Are you looking for heavy-duty electric patio heaters that can be submerged in water? Check out these RADtec Torrid Series Infrared Heaters. With an IP rating of 67, these are some of our top-rated dust and water-resistant electric infrared patio heaters.

Gas vs Electric Patio Heaters: While gas heaters have their merits like higher heat output for example, electric heaters stand out for their eco-friendliness, ease of installation, temperature control, and safety. Without the need for propane tanks or natural gas lines, electric heaters are simpler to set up and operate.

Explore our electric patio heaters collection today and discover the ideal heating solution to extend the enjoyment of your outdoor spaces throughout the year. With options tailored to residential and commercial settings alike, our heaters ensure that your outdoor areas remain warm, welcoming, and stylish, no matter the weather.

Outdoor Electric Heaters FAQs

+ Are outdoor electric heaters water-resistant?

The short answer is "yes". Most electric patio heaters have an IPX4 water resistance rating which means that they are resistant to water splashes from any direction. This is enough for most covered and partially covered applications.

However, if you are installing your electric patio heater on a pergola or a patio without a roof, you might want to shop for heaters with higher water resistance ratings. There are some models with IPX5 and even IPX6 or even IP65 and higher water resistance ratings.

IPX5 rating means that the heater can resist a sustained, low-pressure water jet spray. Like direct rain for example.

PX6 rating means that a heater can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water like really heavy rain.

IP65 rating means that the heater is protected against water jets from any angle. Heavy rain + high winds.

If water resistance rating is important for your project, make sure to use our filters below and narrow down your search to only the heaters with appropriate water resistance rating.

+ Are outdoor electric heaters expensive to run?

The short answer is "it depends" - because electricity rates may vary depending on where you live and the efficiency of your patio heaters can differ. However, on average electric patio heaters are cheaper to run than propane patio heaters and just a little more expensive than natural gas patio heaters.

+ What size heater do I need?

For electric patio heaters - wattage is the most important thing to consider when deciding on the size. The wattage of the heater will determine how many square feet your heater can cover.

On average, a 1500-watt heater can heat a 5' x 5' area, a popular 4000-watt heater can cover 10' x 10', and a powerful 6000-foot heater can cover as much as 160 square feet. These numbers are just to give you a general idea. The actual heat coverage will depend on the efficiency of your heater and weather conditions. You will get better results in covered areas without winds and worse results in colder climates and high-wind areas.

When it comes to the actual size, of the heater, the width of the heater is less important than the wattage and can be coordinated with your space.

+ Are outdoor electric patio heaters safe?

Yes. Electric patio heaters are much safer than natural gas or propane patio heaters because there is no actual combustion or dangerous emissions into the air. When installed and used as recommended, electric patio heaters are as safe as any other household appliance.

+ How many heaters do I need?

On product pages, we provide the coverage area for each particular heater. This information should give you some understanding of how many heaters you might need for your space. However, these are just estimates, and heaters' performance can differ depending on the ceiling height, climate, weather conditions, and the amount of coverage your space offers. Our team will be happy to help you calculate how many heaters you need for your space. Simply send us your project information to support@modernblaze.com.
