Amantii Traditional Fireplaces

The Amantii Traditional line is a vent-free electric fireplace with the boxed log-and-firebox look of a classic hearth, heating from a hidden top vent so it can sit flush. This collection spans the Traditional Lumina, which builds into a new wall or fits an existing fireplace with an insert trim kit, and the slim built-in Traditional Xtraslim.

An Amantii Traditional Electric Fireplace Keeps the Classic Look

The Amantii Traditional is the line for a room that wants a fireplace to look like a fireplace: a boxed firebox with a log bed and a natural orange flame, instead of a long modern strip. It is fully electric, so it needs no gas line, no flue and no chimney, and the flame runs with the heater off. The heater blows forward from hidden vents at the top of the unit, so it can sit flush or semi-flush with no grille showing.

Traditional Lumina: a Built-In That Also Works as an Insert

The Traditional Lumina frames into a new wall like any built-in, using the trim that comes on the unit. Its smaller sizes can also go into the opening of an existing wood or gas fireplace with an Amantii 3-sided or 4-sided insert trim kit, sold separately, while the larger sizes are built-in only. It ships with an oak log set, and the ember bed lighting, flame brightness and flame speed each have their own setting.

Traditional Xtraslim: the Same Look in a Thinner Cabinet

The Traditional Xtraslim has the boxed shape of a classic fireplace in a slender cabinet that needs little wall depth, which makes it the pick for a bedroom, an office or a small living room where a deeper firebox will not fit. It is a built-in model and comes with glass media; Amantii's natural wood log set for the Traditional Xtraslim gives it a wood look instead.

Retrofitting an Old Fireplace: Damper, Outlet, Measurements

Close the chimney damper before the insert goes in. The fireplace does not use the flue, and an open damper only lets warm air out and cold air in. Measure the firebox at its narrowest point, because many masonry fireboxes taper toward the back. Most old fireplaces have no outlet nearby, and Amantii asks for a dedicated outlet with no extension cord or power strip, so plan where it plugs in or have an electrician hardwire it.

About 5,000 BTU and a Thermostat on Both Models

On high, both models give about 5,000 BTU from a standard 120V outlet, enough to take the chill off the room they are in, and a thermostat holds the temperature you set. Each can be run from a touch panel, the handheld remote or Amantii's Wi-Fi app, with flame speed and the colors of the canopy and ember lighting adjustable.

Frequently Asked Questions about Amantii Traditional Fireplaces

Can an Amantii Traditional fireplace go into my existing fireplace?

The smaller Traditional Lumina sizes can. They fit into the opening of an existing wood or gas fireplace with an Amantii 3-sided or 4-sided insert trim kit, sold separately. The larger Lumina sizes and the Traditional Xtraslim are built-in models for a new framed wall. Check the firebox depth as well as the width: the smaller Lumina sizes need an opening about 12 inches deep.

What is the difference between the Traditional Lumina and the Xtraslim?

The Lumina is the full-depth model, comes in more widths, includes an oak log set, and its smaller sizes can be used as inserts. The Xtraslim has the same classic boxed look in a thinner cabinet for walls without much depth, comes with glass media, and is a built-in only. Amantii sells a natural wood log set for the Xtraslim.

Do I need to close the chimney damper for an electric insert?

Yes. An electric fireplace does not use the flue, so an open damper only lets warm room air escape and cold air come down the chimney. Close it before the insert goes in.

How do I measure my fireplace for an Amantii insert?

Measure the width, height and depth of the firebox at its narrowest point. Many masonry fireboxes taper toward the back, so the opening at the front can be wider than the space the cabinet actually gets. Compare those figures with the rough opening for each size in Amantii's installation manual, and check the depth as carefully as the width.

How much heat does an Amantii Traditional fireplace give?

About 5,000 BTU on high from a standard 120V outlet, which takes the chill off the room it is in. The heater sits at the top and blows forward, so the unit can sit flush, and the thermostat holds the temperature you choose. The flame runs on its own with the heat off.

What power does an Amantii Traditional fireplace need?

A standard 120V outlet. The cord leaves from the left side, and Amantii asks for a dedicated outlet that no other appliance shares, with no extension cord or power strip. If there is no outlet near an old fireplace, a qualified electrician can hardwire it following Amantii's manual.
