A Built-In Electric Fireplace Deep Enough for Real Logs

The Amantii Panorama DEEP 72-Inch is an electric fireplace you build into the wall like a traditional firebox, with glass across the front and a log set inside. It is the deepest unit in Amantii's Panorama line, so the logs and flames have room to look three-dimensional instead of flat. Install it in a living room or under a covered patio, and use the flame alone on warm nights.

About 12 Inches of Firebox Gives the Logs Real Depth

Many linear electric fireplaces, including Amantii's own Panorama SLIM and XS, are only a few inches deep, so the media sits in a shallow tray in front of the flame. The DEEP gives the fire about 12 inches to work with, enough for the 11-piece log set and ICE media that come with it to sit in layers, with the flame rising through them. For a different look, Amantii's designer media kits swap in birch, driftwood, split, oak or rustic logs.

Finish Tile or Stone Right Up to the Glass

The Panorama is a full-frame design, so the finished wall can run all the way to the glass with no visible frame. If you would rather frame the opening, the black steel surround in the box does that and covers small gaps in the finish. There are no vents to hide: the heater and fan sit at the top, and the glass angles back so warm air rolls down the front of the fireplace.

Set the Flame Color, Lighting and Heat Separately

The flame is a blend of reds, oranges and yellows. The canopy and ember bed lights take their own color setting, so an orange fire can sit over a blue or amber glow. On high, the two-stage heater makes roughly 5,000 BTU, plenty for a cool evening in one room, and a thermostat keeps the temperature where you set it. Controls live in three places: a touch pad on the unit, the thermostatic remote and the Amantii app.

Best for Long Feature Walls and Covered Patios

At 72 inches wide, this size suits a long living room wall, an open-plan space where the fire needs presence from across the room, or a covered outdoor room where it is the focal point. If your wall cannot give up the depth, the Panorama SLIM and XS keep the same full-frame look in a thinner body.

Check the Wall Depth and Outdoor Rules Before You Frame

• Framing: the DEEP needs a deeper wall cavity than most built-ins. Use the rough-opening dimensions from Amantii's manual for framing, not the cabinet size.
• Power: it plugs into a standard 120V outlet, with a 76-inch cord on the left side, or it can be hardwired. The thermostat can be hardwired to a wall control too.
• Outdoors: Amantii requires an overhang and its Panorama outdoor cover for outdoor installs. In open air the heat does not linger, so think of the fire as the main attraction.
