Long-Run Overhead Infrared, 10 to 20 Feet
Calcana's standard series spreads its heat down a longer run than the High Output series, which is the point rather than a compromise. A long, even band of radiant heat suits an aisle, a walkway or a row of tables better than a short intense one.
Three sizes. The 10 ft unit produces 40,000 BTU and covers about 104 sq ft. The 15 ft produces 50,000 BTU over about 180 sq ft. The 20 ft produces 75,000 BTU over about 312 sq ft. Overall lengths are 11.5, 16.5 and 21.5 ft, so measure the run before choosing.
Each burner modulates rather than running flat out, from a 20,000 BTU minimum on the smallest unit up to full output, so you can dial the heat to the evening.
Indoors as well as out. These are certified for outdoor and indoor applications. Outdoors and under open cover they run unvented; enclose the space and they can be vented through a wall or the roof. Calcana markets the range for mechanical garages, warehouses, greenhouses, car washes and loading docks as well as patios and restaurant terraces. Settle the venting arrangement with your installer from the installation manual.
They are also built for altitude, rated to 2,000 ft in the USA and 4,500 ft in Canada as standard, which matters more than people expect: a heater that fires fine at sea level can underperform badly at elevation.
Construction is a 304 stainless burner box with aluminum reflectors. If you need stainless throughout, or 316 marine grade for a coastal site, that is the High Output series.
Weights run 70, 95 and 110 lb by length. Natural gas or propane, direct spark ignition with no pilot light, CSA approved, 1-year warranty. Made to order, so allow 6 to 7 weeks.
