The Touchstone Forte Infinity Pro 40 is a three-sided electric fireplace that installs four different ways: all three glass sides visible, the left side only, the right side only, or the front only. One fireplace covers a peninsula, a corner and a flat wall, and the decision is made at installation rather than at purchase.

The Only Forte With a Crackling Speaker

It plays the crackle of a real fire alongside the flame, which is the thing people notice first in a room and the one feature no other Forte has. Underneath it, 6 flame colors, 13 ember bed colors and 13 downlight colors set independently.

A Thermostat, or Constant Heat, Up to Nine Hours

Two heat settings at 750 and 1,500 watts, rated at 5,000 BTU and about 400 square feet, held to a set temperature between 68 and 88°F or run constantly. The timer goes from 30 minutes up to 9 hours, longer than the rest of the Touchstone line. The flame runs with the heater off.

Frame the Opening at 40 1/2 by 26 1/2 Inches

Touchstone specifies a rough opening 40 1/2 inches wide, 26 1/2 high and 9 3/4 deep. That depth is the thing to plan around: at 9 3/4 inches it is nearly twice what a flat linear fireplace needs and well past what a 2x6 wall gives, so a three-sided install means a wall built out or a purpose-built enclosure.

Best for a Peninsula or a Room Divider

A three-sided fireplace earns its depth where it can be seen from more than one direction: a wall between a kitchen and a living room, the end of a peninsula, or a corner where two seating areas meet. On a flat wall with one viewing angle, a single-sided Forte does the same job in half the depth.

Plan the Power and the Enclosure Together
