We received this item this week, after several months wait. Totally worth the wait. It is beautiful, custom cut out of iron, and will be here till the next millenium. Even the base is custom designed. The openings are big enough to put wood in easily, and there are lots of little openings for roasting marshmallows and just enjoying the magnificent glow. The only down side is that you have to figure out your own way of dealing with ash and, if you're putting it on a deck, dealing with heat transfer. They did not make allowance for getting rid of the ash. There is a hole in the bottom for ash and water to fall through, but no way of collecting it. Even if you are putting it out in the open, you would end up with ash spreading around your fire pit area. We are using ours on a concrete deck and have had to search for an ash collecting pan, grill and heat distribution mat, none of which Modern Blaze sells. Be that as it may, this is one beautiful piece of art! The people have been friendly and helpful, however, be aware, you are required to pay the entire amount up front. It was a little weird paying a large amount of money but then not hearing anything for a couple of months until it was in production, and then not hearing again until it shipped. Overall I would totally order from them again, just with a little more foreknowledge. And in case it wasn't clear, it's a really beautiful centerpiece to our backyard bonfire area. :)
