The Touchstone Fireplug Insert is an indoor electric fireplace designed for built-in placement in existing hearth openings with smart flame technology.

The Fireplug Insert is made for homeowners who want to convert an existing wood or gas log fireplace opening to electric without losing the charm of a traditional hearth. Its freestanding firebox design helps create a cleaner, finished look inside the fireplace cavity.
Available in four sizes, this insert gives remodelers and trade professionals more flexibility when updating different fireplace openings. Optional trim kits help cover gaps around the insert for a more seamless built-in appearance.
A More Layered Electric Flame Display
The Fireplug uses Touchstone Pro enhanced flame quality, the same flame technology referenced for the Infinity Pro and Elite Pro collections. The display includes black crushed glass crystals, driftwood media, ember bed color options, down-lighting, and built-in crackling sound.
This combination helps turn an unused or outdated fireplace opening into a more finished focal point. It adds the look and sound of a fireplace without gas, wood, venting, or a chimney connection.
Installation Options
The Touchstone Fireplug Insert is designed for indoor installation in existing traditional fireplace openings. It is intended for converting an existing hearth from wood or gas log use to an electric fireplace display.
This electric insert does not require gas, venting, or a chimney. It can be plugged in or hardwired, and it is light switch compatible when installed according to Touchstone’s requirements and local electrical codes.
2-inch and 4-inch trim kits are available to help cover surrounding gaps and create a cleaner finished look.
Controls & Features
The Fireplug Insert can be operated from the app, remote control, or built-in control panel. It is Alexa and Google certified, with smartphone compatibility for connected control.
The flame display includes 6 flame colors, 5 flame speeds, and adjustable flame intensity settings. The ember bed includes 13 color options, 4 brightness levels, and a pulsing bed setting, while the 13-color down-lighting adds more depth to the display.
For supplemental heat, the fireplace includes 750W and 1500W heat settings with thermostat control from 68°F to 88°F or constant-on operation. A power-off timer can be set from 30 minutes to 8 hours.
