* In Jan 2024 we bought the Sideline Fury 57” to replace an unused wood burning fireplace in a ground floor, all-electric condo in Tucson AZ. Pairing it with a 55” Samsung flatscreen TV. We’re very pleased with the product giving it a 5-star rating and meriting a detailed review. The flames are excellent, mesmerizing, non-repetitive with beautiful colors and speed control. The heater is also exceeding our expectations. * We first shopped local retailers and got sticker shock at $2-3k for 50-60” models. A metal box with LED lights, flame mechanism, electronics, 1,500 watt heater. They charge $500+ for add-ons like Wifi smart home integration. Read good reviews from independent web sites on the Elite and discovered the Fury had just been released. Priced $1-2k less for more features, with years of experience, DIY install and a US based company. Don’t normally buy a just released $1,000 appliance online but figured this was an evolution of the existing Elite products; preferred buying direct thru Touchstone. * UPS delivery was great, fast, trackable 4-days from PA to AZ and arrived in the 2-hour delivery window. It was very well packaged, double box, reinforced corners, styrofoam for glass. Our confidence in the product quality was raised immediately. Handles built into the cabinet were essential given the weight with glass and moving it around often prior to installation. Suggestion: open the boxes on-end using the handles to slide it out vs. lift out. * Used on floor for a month leaning against a chair with TV on top while waiting for stacked stone wall tile for recessed installation. Install instructions and videos are excellent. Due to the narrowness of the firebox I put thinner stone along the fireplace perimeter to angle-in the screws to hold the fireplace into the studs. * This new Jan 2024 Fury model has lots of enhancements compared to the Elite. More colors for flames/embers, speed control, brightness. Heater is great, works perfect on 40deg night in our split-floor plan condo’s main 500 sq ft, 8’ ceiling AZ tiled floor room. Can close bedroom doors and large window’s cellular shades and warm the room to 72 with the two older forced air furnaces staying off. * Remote is simple and well designed. The Tuya Smart App for Apple is decent but list based right now; was told the graphical version shown on the web site will be out soon. Google assistant is a bit clunky, so far mainly use it to turn on/off. For example “ Up Light” for embers doesn’t give colors to match flames only “levels.” * I wish there was more information on the website about DIY repair to build confidence on long-term quality. The fireplaces have been out a few years, can you replace an LED strip, flame mechanism or heater if they go out?
