The Surround That Finishes a Traditional Lumina Insert

The Amantii insert trim kit is the black surround that frames a Traditional Lumina electric fireplace when it goes into an existing wood or gas fireplace instead of a new wall. It covers the gap between the fireplace and the old opening, so the insert looks like it was always there. Each kit is made for one Lumina size, in a 3-sided or a 4-sided style.

Amantii Requires a Surround for an Insert Install

Built into a new wall, the Lumina uses the trim already on the unit. Set into an existing fireplace, it sits semi-flush, and for that Amantii requires a three- or four-sided surround. This kit is that surround. It is made for the 26, 30, 33 and 38-inch Lumina only; the 44 and 48-inch sizes are built-in models, and Amantii makes no insert trim for them.

3-Sided Frames the Top and Sides, 4-Sided Frames All Four

The 3-sided kit runs across the top and down both sides with no bottom rail, which Amantii describes as a clean, built-in look that works with the existing fireplace surround. The 4-sided kit adds the bottom rail and closes the frame, for a more traditional, finished look. For the same Lumina size, both kits are the same width; the 4-sided one is taller because of that extra rail.

This kit is for anyone putting a Traditional Lumina into a fireplace they have stopped burning, keeping the mantel and hearth while leaving the ash, soot and drafts behind. Pick the 3-sided kit if you want the existing hearth to meet the insert with no rail between them. Pick the 4-sided kit if you want the insert framed on every side, bottom edge included.

Match the fireplace: choose the kit for the width of Lumina you are buying, not the width of your fireplace opening.
Check coverage: the trim has to be larger than the opening it covers. The 26-inch 4-sided kit, for example, measures 36 by 27 1/8 inches overall; every size is in the FAQs below.
Order them together: an insert install cannot be finished without the surround, so add it to the same order as the fireplace.

Do I need a trim kit to install the Amantii Traditional Lumina as an insert?

Yes. Amantii requires a three- or four-sided surround whenever the Traditional Lumina is installed semi-flush in an existing fireplace opening. If you are building the Lumina into a new wall instead, it uses the trim already on the unit and you do not need this kit.

What is the difference between the 3-sided and 4-sided trim kit?

The 3-sided kit frames the top and both sides and leaves the bottom open, for the clean built-in look Amantii pairs with an existing fireplace surround. The 4-sided kit adds a bottom rail so the insert is framed on every side, the more traditional finish. For the same Lumina size they are the same width, and the 4-sided kit is taller.

Which trim kit size do I need?

The one that matches your Lumina, not your fireplace opening. Each kit is made for one Lumina width, 26, 30, 33 or 38 inches, so a 30-inch Lumina takes the 30-inch kit. Then check that the kit is larger than your opening, using the sizes in the next answer.

How big is each Amantii Lumina insert trim kit?

Overall width by height, 3-sided then 4-sided: 26-inch, 36 x 22 1/8 or 36 x 27 1/8 inches. 30-inch, 38 x 24 or 38 x 28 1/2 inches. 33-inch, 42 x 29 or 42 x 35 3/8 inches. 38-inch, 45 3/4 x 34 3/8 or 45 3/4 x 41 1/8 inches. Amantii's drawing shows the 26 to 33-inch kits at 3/4 inch deep.

Does the trim kit fit the 44 or 48-inch Traditional Lumina?

No. Amantii makes the insert trim kit for the 26, 30, 33 and 38-inch Lumina only. The 44 and 48-inch sizes are built-in models for a new framed wall and are not sold as inserts, so there is no surround for them.

Is this the same as the Amantii Arch or Square trim?

No. The Arch and Square trims are a separate, optional line of decorative trims Amantii sells for the Traditional series, under their own part numbers. This kit is the 3-sided or 4-sided surround Amantii requires when a Lumina goes into an existing fireplace.
