A Mid-Size Built-In Fireplace with a Deep Firebox

The Amantii Panorama DEEP 50-Inch is a mid-size, wall-recessed electric fireplace whose box is deep enough to hold a full log set. It brings the dimensional look of the larger DEEP models to rooms where a very long fire would be too much. It can go in a family room or out on a covered porch, and the heater is optional every time you light it.

Logs With Room Around Them, Not Painted On

Its box, about a foot deep, holds the included ICE media and eleven-piece log set, with room for the flame to rise between and behind them. That gap between media and flame is what makes a DEEP look like a fire and a thin unit look like a screen. Want birch or driftwood instead? Built In Flush, With or Without a Trim

Because the unit is full frame, the finished wall can butt right up to the glass. If you would rather hide the joint, use the black steel surround packed with it. Nothing needs venting; the heater is tucked in the top, and the glass leans back so warm air spills down the front.

Sized for Bedrooms, Offices and Smaller Living Rooms

Fifty inches suits a primary bedroom, a home office or a den where the fireplace is the focus but the wall is not huge. Its roughly 5,000 BTU on high matches the bigger DEEP sizes, and in a smaller room that output goes further. A thermostat holds the temperature, and the Wi-Fi app or remote handles flame color, lighting and the timer.

Leave Room for the Depth and Put the Outlet on the Left

• Depth: the cavity has to take a cabinet about 12 3/4 inches deep, more than a standard stud wall provides, so plan a built-out wall or chase.
• Power: a 76-inch cord with a 120V plug exits on the left, with hardwiring as an option.
• Outdoor installs: outside, it needs both a roof overhead and Amantii's Panorama outdoor cover.
