Description

Bright Birch Logs Over a Glowing Ember Bed

The Majestic Double Tube Burner with Woodland Birch logs is a vented gas log set that turns a wood-burning fireplace into a gas fire you control with a remote, with pale birch logs. Its second burner tube adds more glow under the logs than Majestic's single tube burner.

A Second Burner Tube Adds More Glow to the Embers

Majestic describes the double tube burner as adding more glow and ambiance than its single tube burner. Choose it when the ember bed matters to you as much as the flames, especially in a fireplace you sit close to.

Every Version Comes With a Remote

Safety Pilot keeps a small standing pilot lit and includes an on/off, high/low remote. Intermittent Pilot lights the pilot only when you turn the fire on, so no gas burns between fires, and includes an on/off remote. Majestic makes one Intermittent Pilot burner that serves both the 18- and 24-inch sizes and a separate one for 30 inches. Pick yours in the Ignition Option selector above.

Best for a Dark Firebox That Needs a Brighter Look

Pale birch bark over a stronger ember glow stands out in a dark brick or stone fireplace, and suits a room with light wood or white trim.

The Woodland Birch Log Set Is Sold Separately

This page is for the burner. The Woodland Birch log set is a separate product in the same 18-, 24- and 30-inch widths, and you need both for a working fire, so choose the same width for each. Majestic makes the logs from cement and hand-paints them.

Check the Opening Against the Burner You Choose

Majestic certifies the double tube burner only for a wood-burning masonry fireplace or a UL127 factory-built wood-burning fireplace, and the damper stays open whenever the fire is on. A damper clamp in the kit keeps it from closing fully. The Safety Pilot burners need at least 28, 34 and 42 inches across the front of the opening for the 18-, 24- and 30-inch sizes. The Intermittent Pilot burners need 34 inches for the shared 18/24 burner and 36 inches for the 30-inch, so an 18-inch opening that suits the Safety Pilot may be too small for Intermittent Pilot. Keep furniture, curtains and anything flammable at least 36 inches from the front, run it with any glass doors fully open, and avoid a drafty spot. Majestic rates it as decorative or supplemental heat, not a primary heat source. Have the chimney professionally cleaned first, and use a licensed gas installer or an NFI-certified technician for the gas line and the first lighting.

Optional Accessories

For the indoor fireplace, a freestanding screen in front of the opening adds a barrier while the fire runs. See the Modern Blaze Curved Steel Fireplace Screen and the Modern Blaze 3-Panel Steel Fireplace Screen.

Majestic Double Tube Burner Vented Gas Log – Woodland Birch FAQ's

Can you put gas logs in a wood-burning fireplace?

Yes, and that is the only place this set goes. Majestic certifies the Double Tube burner for a wood-burning masonry fireplace or a UL127 factory-built wood-burning fireplace, and the damper stays open whenever the fire is on. The kit includes a damper clamp that stops the damper closing fully.

What size gas logs do I need?

Match the burner to your opening using Majestic's minimums. The Safety Pilot burners need at least 28 inches across the front for the 18-inch size, 34 for the 24-inch and 42 for the 30-inch. The Intermittent Pilot burners need 34 inches for the shared 18/24 burner and 36 for the 30-inch. Depth and height minimums are in the installation manual, and your installer should confirm them before you order.

How do you light the gas logs with the remote?

With Intermittent Pilot, press on at the included remote and the pilot lights, then the burner; the pilot goes out when you turn the fire off. With Safety Pilot, the standing pilot stays lit and the included remote turns the burner on and off and sets the flame high or low.

Do gas logs give off heat?

Yes, they give off some heat, with inputs from 40,000 to 80,000 BTU per hour depending on size and fuel. Majestic tests them as decorative or supplemental appliances, though, not a primary heat source, and the damper has to stay open while they run.

What is the difference between a standing pilot and an intermittent pilot?

A standing pilot, which Majestic calls Safety Pilot, keeps a small flame lit all the time so the fire is ready to turn on. An intermittent pilot lights only when you turn the fire on and goes out when you turn it off, so no gas burns between fires. On this burner both come with a remote; Intermittent Pilot costs more.

What is the difference between vented and ventless gas logs?

Vented gas logs like these burn with the chimney damper open, so combustion gases leave through the chimney. Ventless logs are a different appliance built to burn without an open flue. This Majestic set is vented only and must never run with the damper closed.
