The MUS42 expands the Muscle platform to a wider 42-inch format while retaining its assertive front profile and #304 stainless steel construction. Its automotive-influenced detailing gives the grill a strong visual identity that can become a focal point within a built-in outdoor kitchen.

The larger configuration provides 1,315 square inches of total cooking surface, giving multiple dishes more room across the grill. Six stainless steel main burners provide 132,000 total BTU, while heat-zone separators help organize different cooking areas across the wider surface.

Gas Convenience with the Character of Solid-Fuel Cooking

The hybrid design goes beyond conventional gas grilling. Patented fuel trays allow wood logs, wood chunks, charcoal, lump charcoal, or combinations of solid fuels to be placed beneath the cooking grates, with the gas burners helping ignite the fuel.

Reversible 9-gauge V-shaped cooking grates sit above the fuel system, while adjustable hood vents provide airflow control. This arrangement gives the MUS42 flexibility for cooking over gas, hot coals, wood, or combinations of fuels without requiring separate grills.

Installation Options

The MUS42 grill head is designed for a built-in outdoor kitchen installation. American Made Grills also describes its Muscle Hybrid platform as suitable for freestanding configuration when paired with a compatible cart. Installation must follow the manufacturer's specified enclosure, ventilation, clearance, gas, and electrical requirements.

Natural Gas and Liquid Propane configurations are available. Because the grill includes interior halogen cooking lights and LED control lighting, its electrical connection should be installed according to the manufacturer's installation instructions.

Controls & Features

The MUS42 uses six 22,000 BTU main burners, producing 132,000 total BTU. Solid-brass Flame Thrower valve ignition provides gas ignition, while the patented fuel-tray system supports wood and charcoal cooking.

Adjustable hood vents help manage airflow, and #304 stainless steel heat-zone separators divide the cooking area for different cooking conditions. Interior halogen lights illuminate the grill surface, while LED lighting above the control knobs improves visibility around the controls.
