A Real Flame in a Round Bowl, Lit From a Single Gel Can

The Anywhere Fireplace Oasis is a small, round tabletop fireplace that burns a can of gel fuel, so you get a real flame without a chimney, gas line or outlet, and without pouring any liquid fuel. Think of it as a fire bowl scaled down to a centerpiece. It comes in brushed stainless steel or antique hammered copper, and it works on a dining table, a pedestal or a patio, indoors or out.

Gel Cans Mean No Pouring: Open, Light, Snuff, Replace

The Oasis takes one 13 oz gel fuel can made for fireplaces. You peel off the can's paper label, take off its lid, set it in the cup inside the bowl and light it with a long wand lighter. Expect a low blue flame at first; within a few minutes it turns into orange, dancing flames. Anywhere Fireplace rates one can at about 2.5 hours.

To put it out, you set the long-handled snuffer over the cup and leave it there for at least 2 minutes. If there's gel left, put the can's own lid back on and relight it another day. Never top up a can with fuel from another can.

River Rocks Around the Flame, and Nothing Else Inside

The top of the Oasis is recessed to hold the polished river rocks that come with it, which sit around the cup and frame the flame. Use those rocks and keep everything else out of the bowl: the manual says never to place objects in the fireplace or near the flame, and if a rock ever drops into the gel, put the fire out, let it cool and lift the rock out before relighting.

It's a centerpiece rather than a heater: the flame gives off warmth you can feel up close, but it won't warm a room or a patio. It suits a dinner table, a side table by an outdoor sofa, or a gift for someone who wants a real fire with no installation.

Two Finishes: Brushed Stainless or Antique Copper

The brushed stainless steel Oasis reads modern and clean. The antique hammered copper version, which Anywhere Fireplace calls a limited-edition color, has a warmer, textured look that sits well with wood and natural stone. Both are the same size and use the same cans.

Keep 4 Feet Clear and Let the Can Cool Before Swapping

Fuel is not included, so order gel cans with the fireplace. Keep anything flammable at least 4 feet from the flame, which on a table means napkins, menus and greenery, and outdoors means cushions and umbrellas. Never touch or move the Oasis while it's lit or hot. When a can burns out, snuff it, wait about 5 to 10 minutes for the empty can to cool, then lift it out and drop in a new one. Don't throw an empty can in the trash until it's back to room temperature.
