Description
Fits a 2x4 Wall at 4.75 Inches Deep, and Plugs Into a Standard Outlet
The Spectrum Slimline is a linear electric fireplace shallow enough to recess into 2x4 framing, and it runs off a normal 120V outlet if you would rather not hire an electrician.
The Shallowest Built-In Route Into an Existing Wall
At 4.75 inches deep this recesses into a standard 2x4 stud wall, which is what most existing interior walls already are. That matters more than it sounds: a 2x6 unit means framing out the wall, which turns a weekend job into a contractor job. It fits 2x6 framing too, and it will surface mount if you would rather not cut into anything at all.
Plug It In or Hardwire It, Your Choice

It runs on a standard 120V outlet or hardwires for a cleaner finish with no cord showing. If you are putting it into an existing wall with an outlet nearby, you can do the whole install yourself. That flexibility is the main practical difference between this and the rest of the Modern Flames linear range.
Indoor Only, and We Mean It
This model is not rated for outdoor use, including covered porches. If the fireplace is going outside, the Landscape Pro Slim is the model in this range that carries a covered outdoor rating.
Best for a Living Room Wall You Do Not Want to Rebuild
Widths run 50 to 100 inches. The 50 and 60-inch sizes suit a standard living room feature wall; the 74 and 100-inch sizes are proportioned for a great room or a long hallway wall where a smaller unit would look lost. All four put out the same 5,000 BTU and heat around 450 square feet, so size here is a design decision, not a heating one.
What We Would Tell You Before You Order
Decide plug versus hardwire before you cut the opening. Retrofitting a hidden outlet after the drywall is patched is the one job people regret.
The heater is supplemental. At 5,000 BTU it takes the edge off a room; it will not replace central heat, and no electric fireplace at this size will.
If you are mounting a TV above it, check the clearance in the manual for your width before you set the bracket height.
