The Lexington Hearth Rockface Color Sample is a 4 by 4-inch piece cast from the same material as the full mantel and finished the same way, in either Bluegrass Fog or Turfway Tan.

The Rockface is the stone-look profile rather than a timber one, and its chiseled edge is speckled with mica that sparkles in direct light and disappears in flat light, which is exactly the kind of thing a photograph cannot show you. What you pay for the sample is credited back when you order the full mantel.

Judging a hand-painted finish from a photograph is the single most common reason a mantel gets returned, and a mantel is the one product where that is expensive to get wrong.
