Quarter-Inch Carbon Steel That Ages Into Its Own Rust Finish
The Seasons Elliptical is a freestanding wood burning fire pit cut from 1/4-inch carbon steel and handmade in the USA. It ships fully assembled, and it is built to be left outside permanently.
The Rust Is the Finish, Not a Fault
Carbon steel this thick is not painted or coated. It weathers to a deep rust patina over the first few seasons and then stabilizes, which is the look the pit is designed around. One consequence worth knowing before you place it: Seasons notes that patina transfer can stain what sits underneath, so gravel, stone or bare ground suits it better than a finished patio surface you care about.
A Center Drain Means You Never Have to Cover It

A 1-inch hole in the base lets rain run straight through instead of pooling in the bowl. That is the whole maintenance story: no cover, no draining, no seasonal storage. Burn it, let it cool, leave it.
Best for Open Yards and Gravel Fire Pit Areas
This is a fire pit for people with room. Seasons requires 25 feet of clearance from buildings, trees, covered porches and vehicles, and the pit must never sit on a wooden deck, a composite deck or asphalt, because the heat it throws will damage or ignite those surfaces. On an open lawn, a gravel bed or a stone patio away from the house, that is easy. On a small deck, it is the wrong product and a gas fire table is the better answer.
Sizes run 36 to 72 inches across. The 36-inch suits a four-chair circle; the 60 and 72-inch sizes are for the kind of gathering where people stand.
What We Would Tell You Before You Order
Check your local burn rules first. Wood fires are restricted seasonally in a lot of dry counties, and that is worth knowing before a 600-pound steel bowl arrives on a freight truck.
These ship by freight and arrive fully assembled, so plan for two people and a clear path to where it will live. Nothing bolts together and there is nothing to tighten later.
At 36 inches and up, stacking wood in a round bowl gets easier with a grate holding the logs upright. The Conical Fire Pit Grate does that, and the Eclipse Log Holder keeps a night's wood dry beside it.
