Grand Canyon Gas Logs, Molded From Real Arizona Wood

Grand Canyon Gas Logs started in 2013 to bring American-made gas logs back to the market. Its log hunters pick real wood in Northern Arizona, and each log set is molded from it. The Arizona Weathered Oak logs all came from one tree struck by lightning more than 40 years ago. For the Charred log sets, they burned the front logs in half and molded the result. That is where the cracks, twists and bark detail come from.

Vented Log Sets on 2- and 3-Burner Pans

The vented gas logs sit on a 2-burner or 3-burner pan, and each log species fits both. The third burner adds flame and heat at the same width: a 24-inch 2-burner is rated 64,000 BTU and a 24-inch 3-burner 74,000. Controls run from a manual safety pilot to millivolt and modulating remotes and electronic ignition. The Lava Burner pairs a vented burner with glowing Glowfire logs. These assembled log sets are for indoor use, with the damper held open by a damper stop.

    Vent-Free Indoor Logs

Grand Canyon's vent-free gas logs come in Weathered Oak, Red Oak and Split Oak, as concrete logs over stainless steel fiber mesh. An oxygen depletion sensor shuts the burner off if the room's oxygen drops, and the 24- and 30-inch log sets are rated up to 37,000 BTU. Vent-free appliances are restricted in some places, California and parts of Massachusetts among them, so check your local code first.

    Linear Drop-In Burners

The Bedrock burners are drop-in troughs for a long, modern flame, topped with Glowfire logs or reflective fire glass. Each plugs into a 110V outlet or hardwires, ships with one remote for the flame and one for the LED lights, and lets you control the lights from a Wi-Fi app. The fuel is fixed at the order and cannot be converted.

    Outdoor Fire Pit Log Burners

Three outdoor log burners drop into an existing round fire pit on a stainless steel chassis: Round Tall Stack, Round Flat Stack and Tee-Pee Stack. The log set is chosen separately, in Arizona Weathered Oak, Aspen or Western Driftwood. Match-lit models need no power, and electronic ignition needs 120V run to the fire pit.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grand Canyon Gas Logs

Where are Grand Canyon gas logs made?

In the USA. Grand Canyon Gas Logs was established in 2013 to bring American-made gas logs back to the hearth market, and it molds its logs from real wood picked in Northern Arizona.

What is the difference between a 2-burner and a 3-burner Grand Canyon log set?

The 3-burner pan adds a third burner under the logs, so it puts out more flame and heat at the same width. At 24 inches, the 2-burner is rated 64,000 BTU and the 3-burner 74,000. Every log species fits both pans.

Can Grand Canyon vented gas logs be used outdoors?

Not the assembled 2- and 3-burner log sets, which Grand Canyon lists for indoor use only. Its stainless "-SS" burners are the outdoor versions. For a fire pit, the Round Tall Stack, Round Flat Stack and Tee-Pee Stack burners are built for outdoor use.

Do Grand Canyon vent-free logs need a chimney?

No. They are vent-free, with an oxygen depletion sensor that shuts the burner off if the room's oxygen drops. The room has to be large enough for the BTU rating, and vent-free appliances are restricted in some states and cities, including California and parts of Massachusetts.

Do the Grand Canyon outdoor burners come with logs?

No. The burner includes the lava rock, valve and connection fittings, and the log set is chosen separately in Arizona Weathered Oak, Aspen or Western Driftwood.

Do Grand Canyon outdoor burners need electricity?

Only with electronic ignition, which needs 120V run to the fire pit. Match-lit models run without power.
