Description
A Compact Smokeless Fire Pit That Burns Wood or Pellets
The Napoleon Timberwolf 18-Inch is a small smokeless fire pit for firewood, wood pellets or charcoal, made of stainless steel in a matte black or brushed stainless finish. It burns like a regular campfire, except the fire pit feeds hot air back into the flames, so most of the smoke burns off before it reaches you. It carries by a leather handle and needs no gas line or power, so it moves easily from the patio to a campsite.
Two Rows of Vents Burn Off Most of the Smoke
Napoleon calls it a dual-layer burn zone. Air comes in through the long vents near the bottom, rises between the two stainless walls, and comes back out as hot air through the row of holes just under the rim. That hot air burns the smoke the fire gives off, which is why you can sit on any side without moving your chair every few minutes. The raised base feeds air from underneath, and the top ring keeps wind off the flames.
Smokeless means much less smoke, not none. Expect some in the first few minutes after lighting, and more if the wood is damp or stacked above the top ring. Dry, seasoned firewood and an empty ash pan keep it burning clean.
Burns Firewood, Pellets or Charcoal for Grilling

Split logs under 4 inches across and 16 inches long fit best. Wood pellets pour straight in, no adapter needed, up to the Max Fill line etched inside, and the flames fill the fire pit within about five minutes. Charcoal turns it into a small grill with Napoleon's cast iron cooking grid, sold separately. Charcoal burns hotter than wood, so give it more room.
Sized for Small Patios, Campsites and Tailgates
At 18 inches across, the Timberwolf suits a small patio and anyone who wants to bring the fire along. It carries by its handle once it has cooled, and the cover, spark screen and poker come in the box. If you usually have a bigger group around the fire, the Napoleon Timberwolf 22-Inch is the same design with a larger fire, in stainless steel only.
Both finishes are 304 stainless steel underneath. On the brushed stainless finish, the hottest areas turn golden over time, which is normal for heated stainless.
Set It on Stone or Concrete, 15 Feet From the House
- Set it on level, non-combustible ground such as stone, concrete, pavers or gravel. Never on a wood or composite deck, dry grass, leaves or mulch. An outdoor rug counts as combustible too.
- Keep it at least 15 feet from walls, structures and buildings, and never under a roof, carport, awning, overhang or low branches. Flames can reach 3 feet above the top.
- Give outdoor furniture, umbrellas and blankets some distance, and keep an adult with it whenever it is lit or hot.
- Let the fire burn out on its own. Water is for emergencies only, because wet ash can mark the stainless.
- Once it is cold, empty the ash pan into a metal container with a lid, and put the cover on.
