Description

A 30-Inch Built-In Gas Griddle That Fits the Same Cut-Out as an AOG 30-Inch Grill

The American Outdoor Grill T-Series 30-inch griddle is a built-in gas flat top for outdoor kitchens, with a heavy duty 3/8" stainless steel cooking surface heated by 304 stainless steel tubular burners rated at 34,000 BTU. It runs on natural gas or propane, lights with Flame Thrower ignition from the gun metal control knobs, and drops into a 30.5" x 19.5" x 8.5" island cut-out.

It Drops Into the Same Opening as the 30-Inch T-Series Grill

American Outdoor Grill Authorized Dealer Logo

American Outdoor Grill specifies the identical cut-out, 30.5" wide, 19.5" deep and 8.5" high, for this griddle and for its 30-inch L-Series and T-Series grills, and it offers its 30-inch island bundle with either a grill or this griddle in the same spot. An island planned for a 30-inch AOG grill can take the griddle instead, or you can build a second opening and run both side by side. For a freestanding setup, AOG lists its 30-inch cart base (30CRT-25) for converting the griddle into a portable griddle.

Best for an Outdoor Kitchen That Already Has a Grill

A flat top does the cooking a grate cannot: pancakes and eggs, smash burgers, fried rice, fajita vegetables, and anything small enough to fall through the grids. If you already cook on an AOG T-Series grill, this griddle matches it in finish and in the knobs your hands already know, so the two read as one cooking line rather than two brands side by side.

T-Series or L-Series: The T-Series Needs No Power

Both griddles share the 3/8" stainless cooking surface, the 34,000 BTU tubular burners, the Flame Thrower ignition, the removable grease troughs and the stainless steel griddle lid. The T-Series leaves the lighting off and needs no electricity or batteries at all, so there is no power to run to the island. Choose the series that matches the grill already in your island.

Plan 12 Inches From the Grill, and a Vent Hood Under a Covered Patio

AOG's installation manual for this griddle calls for at least 12" between it and any other heating appliance, such as your grill, and at least 4" between its rear vent and any backsplash or non-combustible wall. A combustible island needs AOG's 30-IL-C insulating liner. Under a covered patio, keep at least 5 feet from the countertop to the overhead construction. Under combustible overhead construction AOG requires an approved heavy-duty vent hood, and its quick start guide calls for a hood larger than the cooking area rated at a minimum of 1,200 CFM.

The T-Series needs no electrical connection at all. Order the natural gas or propane version to match your gas supply.

Optional Accessories

Pair it with the matching American Outdoor Grill Double Side Burner, or browse the full American Outdoor Grill collection for the grills it is built to sit beside.

American Outdoor Grill T-Series 30-Inch Built-In Gas Griddle FAQ's

Will this griddle fit next to my American Outdoor Grill?

Yes. It uses the same 30.5" x 19.5" x 8.5" cut-out as the AOG 30-inch L-Series and T-Series grills, and AOG offers its 30-inch island bundle with either one. In the same island, AOG's manuals call for at least 12" between the griddle and the grill.

Can the American Outdoor Grill griddle go on a cart?

Yes. AOG's installation manual lists its 30-inch cart base, model 30CRT-25, for converting the built-in griddle into a portable griddle. The cart base is sold separately.

What is the difference between the T-Series and L-Series griddle?

The cooking hardware is the same: a 3/8" stainless steel surface, 34,000 BTU tubular burners, Flame Thrower ignition and removable grease troughs. The L-Series adds a multi-color light bar and color-changing LED face panel lighting; the T-Series needs no electricity or batteries.

Is a built-in griddle better than a griddle plate on my grill?

For regular flat top cooking, yes. A griddle plate like the AOG GR18A sits on the grill grates, and AOG's grill manual warns never to cover more than 75% of the cooking surface with griddles, pots or pans. A built-in griddle gives you the full 30-inch flat top with its own burners and leaves your grill free.

How do you clean the American Outdoor Grill griddle?

After each use, AOG says to run the griddle on high, turn it off, lightly pour on water or a non-toxic griddle cleaner, scrub with a heavy-duty non-scratch pad on a long-handled tool, scrape the grime from back to front into the drip collector trough, wipe it down and coat the surface lightly with cooking oil. Once it is cool, lift out and wash the trough pieces and the drip tray. The interior and burners get a deep clean twice a year.

Does the griddle come with a lid?

Yes. It ships with a stainless steel griddle lid. AOG recommends putting the lid on only once the griddle is cool and dry, since covering a damp griddle can cause surface rust.
