Description

A Free Standing Ethanol Fireplace That Floats on Glass

The Anywhere Fireplace Broadway is a free standing fireplace that burns liquid bio-ethanol, built as much like a sculpture as an appliance. A curved, high-gloss beige body holds the burner, and two upright glass panels hold the body, so the fire looks like it's hovering. There's nothing to install and nothing to plug in: you assemble it, add fuel and light it.

Two Glass Panels Carry the Body, So It Seems to Hover

The glass panels are the legs. Two support rods run through the body, and the glass is screwed to them from each side, which leaves the body suspended above the floor with clear glass all around the flame. Clear rubber protectors go on the bottom edges of both panels to cushion the glass where it meets the floor.

Liquid Bio-Ethanol, Plus a Wick That Guards Against Spills

Anywhere Fireplace Authorized Retailer

The Broadway burns liquid bio-ethanol made for ventless fireplaces, which leaves no smoke, soot or ash and needs no chimney. Inside the burner is a layer of white fiberglass wicking. Leave it in: Anywhere Fireplace puts it there to hold the fuel if the fireplace is ever knocked over, and it also makes the flame steadier. A slide-shut lid, closed with the included handle, puts the fire out.

A Sculpture That Warms You Up Close, Not the Room

The flame gives off real warmth if you sit near it, but treat the Broadway as a centerpiece rather than a heater. It earns its place in a living room, an entryway or a dining room where a conventional fireplace isn't possible, and anywhere you want a fire that people notice before they notice the flame.

The Broadway Is the Glass-Legged Sibling of the Gramercy

Anywhere Fireplace's Gramercy burns the same fuel and also needs no installation, but it's a long, low black or white base on two short legs that can go on a sturdy table. The Broadway is the one designed to stand on the floor and be looked at: beige lacquer and glass, with the body floating between the panels. Pick the Gramercy for flexibility, the Broadway for presence.

Plan on Two People for the Glass, Then Mind the Clearance

Assemble it on a carpet or towel. Fit the support rods into the body first, then turn the body on its side to attach each glass panel; the manual suggests a second person to hold the glass steady while you screw it on. Fuel isn't included, so order it with the fireplace.

Fill the burner only until fuel shows just above the perforated holes, cap the bottle and set it well away before lighting with a long lighter or match. Keep anything flammable at least 4 feet from the flame, and wait 15 minutes after it goes out before moving or refilling it.

Anywhere Fireplace Broadway Free Standing Glass Panel Ethanol Fireplace FAQ's

How does the Broadway stand up?

On its glass. Two support rods run through the curved body, and a glass panel screws to them on each side, so the panels carry the body above the floor. Clear rubber protectors on the bottom edges cushion the glass where it stands.

Is the Broadway hard to put together?

No tools beyond what's in the box, but it's easier with two people. You fit the rods into the body, then attach each glass panel with the screws and clear washers while someone holds the glass steady. Work on a carpet or towel to protect the finish.

How much fuel does the Broadway use?

Anywhere Fireplace rates its fireplaces at up to five hours of flame per liter of liquid bio-ethanol. Fuel isn't included. Use one made for ventless fireplaces, ideally in a bottle with a flame arrestor in the neck.

What is the white material inside the Broadway's burner?

Fiberglass wicking, and it should stay there. Anywhere Fireplace includes it as a safety measure, so the fuel is held in place if the fireplace is ever tipped over, and it also helps the flame burn more evenly.

How much space does the Broadway need around it?

Keep curtains, furniture and anything else flammable at least 4 feet from the fire while it's lit or still hot. Never move it while it's burning, and let it cool for at least 15 minutes after the flame is out.

How is the Broadway different from the Gramercy?

They share a fuel and a no-installation setup, but not a shape. The Broadway's beige lacquered body floats between two standing glass panels and is made to stand on the floor. The Gramercy is a long, low black or white base on two legs that can also sit on a sturdy table, and it costs less.
