The Lexington Hearth Classic is a wall-mounted mantel shelf made from composite wood veneer, with minimalist beam styling and quiet, tailored detail. It is not solid lumber, which is why it costs a fraction of a cast or hardwood mantel of the same size, and it carries the same milled detail on every exposed edge. It is a beam profile rather than a molded one, and it runs to 84 inches, the longest wood mantel in the Architect Series.

The depth is the same in every length. Size it from the firebox opening plus the reveal you want on each side, not from the width of the wall.

It stays under 30 pounds in every length, light enough for a two-person install

The mounting bracket and six fasteners are in the box, and the bracket has to land on framing rather than on drywall anchors alone.

It is combustible, so your fireplace manual sets the height, not the mantel

Composite wood veneer is combustible, the same as solid wood. Find the mantel clearance in your fireplace manual before you measure anything. Best for wide fireplaces and long walls, in rooms from Georgian to mid-century modern

The Classic is the one to reach for when the fireplace is wide enough that a 72-inch mantel would look undersized. At 84 inches it covers a broad stone surround or a wide linear firebox, and the plain beam face is what lets it work across periods: Lexington places it in Georgian, Federal and mid-century modern rooms, and the reason is that a beam carries no period ornament to date it. If you want detail rather than a plain face at this length, the Horizon is slimmer and the Federal carries dentil molding.
